Leaving on a Jet Plane

Life has been so busy lately!  Couple that with the fact that I am struggling just to get through my day to day responsibilities and you get a blogger missing in action.  Sorry!  I'm not going to promise to do better because I have been down this road of battling with depression before and I'm not sure when it will improve.  Instead I'm just going to ask you to bear with me and if you pray, please pray for me.  Thanks

In other news, in just a few days I will be leaving on one of these....
This will be the second time I have EVER flown.  The first time I was accompanied by a friend who was well rehearsed in air travel.  This time I am going it alone.  Needless to say if you have any tips to share regarding flying, packing, etc.  I would love to hear them!  I am a heavy packer and we usually travel by car so it's going to be a little challenging for me to pack light.  My main problem seems to be shoes.  A girl's gotta have her shoes, right?

Let me be the first to share a tip.  If you don't fly much (or even if you do) it might not be such a good idea to search google images for "plane" because you find pictures like this....
and this...
and this...

Not too comforting for a novice air traveler!

At any rate.  Our family is going to Florida to participate in my mom's wedding.  I am flying out ahead of them to help with the wedding preparations.  I'm really looking forward to spending some time with my momma and the rest of my family and friends.

Better Than A Hallelujah

I just heard THIS SONG on the radio a couple of days ago and I LOVE IT so I thought I'd share it with you. I wanted to embed it so you could just watch it here, but they disabled that feature for this video.  But you can CLICK HERE and go over and watch it.  I don't think you'll be sorry.  Let me know what you think!

6 Degrees of Blogging

Julia over at Work, Wife, Mom... Life started a new blogging experiment(?) called 6 Degrees of Blogging. Since I love to find new and interesting blogs I think this is going to prove to be loads of fun!

Here are the rules...
*Start on your blog and clink on another blog's link. Keep clicking through to another blog until you get to the 6th blog.
*Leave a comment on their blog saying "Hey, I found you through 6 degrees of blogging! You are being featured on my blog today! (Leave your blog URL so they can find you and the featured post.)
*Write a quick blurb on your blog with the 6 degrees button, a link/button to your featured blogger and a few nice words about them and their blog.  Encourage your readers to visit your featured blogger and leave them some comment love!
*Link your blog up on the MckLinky blog hop (feel free to grab the blog hop code if you want) so we can visit your blog and see who you found!

The goal here is to find new blogs. Find someone who might not have found otherwise. To encourage other bloggers by leaving them comments of support!  Follow other bloggers and they will return the favor by following and commenting on yours.

HERE IS MY FEATURED BLOG THAT I FOUND THROUGH 6 DEGREES OF BLOGGING:
Beth has a great blog about her family and life!  Hop on over HERE and check out her blog!

Five Question Friday 03/19

It's time again for those Five Fun Questions.
My Little Life
1. Have you ever had a celeb sighting?
Nope.

2. What temperature do you keep your house?
Usually we keep it around 70 degrees.

3. Do you notice dust at other peoples homes?
Not really.  I would probably notice clutter more than dust.

4. What's the worst job you ever had?
Umm... well I haven't really had any terrible jobs.  There was one that I didn't work at long.  It was an accounting position for a company that owned a group of restaurants.  What made the job so bad was that the work load they gave me was enough for 2 or maybe even 3 people.  There were numerous new software programs that I had to learn and they only gave me 2 days of training and then just threw me in.  I don't think the job would have been that bad, the working conditions just made the job unbearable.

5. What is your most sentimental possession?
Wow, this is a tough one.  I must be a pretty sentimental person because I have lots of sentimental possessions.  This is not the MOST sentimental possession, but definitely one of the top.  When I got married my mom took the wedding ring that my dad gave her when they got married (my dad died when I was 7) and had it engraved inside with a sentiment from her and gave it to me.

Shoot Me! 10 of 52 - Church Appreciation Dinner

Our church has been so supportive of us as a family.  They have paid for a majority of my husband's seminary education.  We wanted to show them how much we appreciate their support so we cooked and served them dinner.  Here are a few photos from the church appreciation dinner.
This is me and my husband (looking pretty ragged I might add) with a missionary to Haiti Anne Rita.

These fabulous photos were taken by my friend "Cyndi."
You can check out more of her awesome work HERE

Getting To Know You - A Day Late

I was a little busy yesterday so I'm posting my answers to
Getting to Know You today instead.

1. What's your favorite Easter candy?
Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs!!

2. Who do you think is cleaner..men or women?
Depends on the man/men and woman/women in question. ;)

3. Which do you prefer..wordy blog posts or ones with pictures?
I do NOT like really wordy blog posts.  Too many words is too overwhelming.  I like blog posts that are straight to the point. I like picture posts too!

4. Were you popular in highschool?
Depends on what you mean by popular.  I knew a lot of people, but I don't think I'd consider myself popular.

5. What's your bra size?
Yeah, don't think I'm gonna be putting that out on the blogosphere.  Sorry!

6. How many states have you lived in?
2, Florida & now Louisiana

7. What's one blog you read every day?
While I'd love to read blogs every day it just doesn't happen.  Especially lately.

8. Peanut butter or Nutella?
I love Peter Pan Creamy Honey Roasted Peanut Butter.

Still Learning How to Juggle

At the beginning of the year I read this brilliant post by Shannon.  Go on over, read it and come back. I promise you won't be sorry!

She did a wonderful job of describing the different types of balls that we all juggle in our everyday life.  As she explained some of the balls will break when they are dropped, those balls are glass.  Some of the balls will bounce, those are the rubber balls.

Clearly I am still learning how to juggle and which balls should even be thrown in the mix.  Right now life seems FULL of glass balls.  Every time I turn around it seems one is hitting the ground and shattering. Life seems to be moving at warp speed and it is sometimes hard to tell which balls are glass and which are rubber until after they've already hit the ground.

I keep trying to remind myself that we just happen to be in a very busy season of life right now.  It's not always like this. But it is pretty overwhelming at times.

How about you?  Ever have times when life is overwhelming?  What helped?  I'd love to hear about it!

Isn't Anything Safe Anymore?

What do these common household items have in common?

I was listening/watching Fox News while getting ready for work this morning (just like most other mornings) and they had an author on who was talking about these common household items and how they are poisoning us.  Apparently he did some experiments to test the safety of these items and found that they all contain or emit some dangerous chemicals.  If you want to read more about it you can find the article HERE

As a wife and mom I want to know that I am doing whatever I can to keep my family safe and healthy.  However, I am beginning to feel like it's nearly impossible and it's very frustrating.  Does anyone else share my frustration?

I posted about this here because I am hoping to get your take on the whole situation.  What are your thoughts about the safety of our household items and food supply these days?  What do you do to ensure your families health and safety?

Blog Awards

I know that I said I was going to try and do a "real" post sometime this weekend, but life did not allow.  It was a good weekend though, just busy.

Last week I was given a couple of awards by some of my bloggy friends.  I feel extremely special to know that my blog makes a difference in other people's lives.
Thanks to MINDY over at "Because I Said So" for the Beautiful Blogger Award!!  I am truly honored!!  The rules for this award are...

1. Link to the person who gave you the award.
2. Pass the award along to fantastic blogs you've recently discovered.
3. Contact the blogs via a comment to let them know you've giving them the award.
4. State seven things about yourself.

I'm giving this award to: ERIN over at Goldylocks and Her Three Bears.  Erin you truly are a beautiful blogger!

Here are 7 Things About Me:
1. My favorite flowers are tulips.
2. I was born and raised in Central Florida and moved to Southeast Louisiana in 2005.
3. My mom is getting married next month and I am excited about traveling to Florida to help with her wedding.
4. I LOVE to sleep!  There is no such thing as too much sleep.
5. I was born in the back seat of a car.  My mom has always said that I came into this world in a hurry and have been in a hurry ever since.
6. I am NOT a morning person.  Just ask my family.
7. I am on a journey to loose 70 pounds.  I have traveled this road twice before and re-gained the weight both times.  I hate the fact that it seems this will be a lifelong battle for me.

I also received this Sunshine Award from MSMAGNETISM over at Missiontolose130pounds.  Thanks!  What an awesome thing to know that you brighten someone's day!

The only rule for this one is to pass it along.  So I am passing it along to these blogs that bring a little sunshine to my day...

There are so many more, but that's all I have time for today.  Thanks ladies for brightening the bloggy world!
