Boxes, Boxes, Everywhere!

Well, we made the big move! We are now in Central Florida. I am down to unpacking the last few boxes. Love our new house but it is set up a lot different than the house we moved from so it is taking some time to figure out where to put things and how everything is going to function. It's coming together. I am looking for a job. I have had one interview and have another scheduled for next week. I hope to get settled into a new job soon and get into a regular routine.

Our new house is just two blocks from the park. There is a walking path around the lake at the park and I am looking forward to being able to walk there in the afternoons.

Lots of changes for me and my family.  Guess I better go unpack those last few boxes so that we can start getting used to our new "normal." :)

3 Weeks!

Yikes! It's three weeks until moving day and there is still so much to be done. As I try to check things off my to do list one by one I am reminded why I hate moving. So much red tape to accomplish anything. On a positive note I did have a phone interview last week for a possible job. I am praying that if it is the job God wants for me then He will work out all the details.

I had a great Mother's Day weekend. I got to spend Friday with my friends. We had lunch and then did a little shopping.  Spent Friday night with my husband. All the kids were gone so we rented a movie and just enjoyed the alone time. Saturday I did some packing and went to the grocery store. Sunday my husband and kids took me out to lunch at my favorite restaurant.

Looks like our last days here are going to be very busy. The calendar is filling up fast with all the end of the school year activities going on.

I hope your week is off to a good start.

Packing, Packing, & More Packing

I really hate packing. I used to think that I'm a pretty organized person. I mean usually it's pretty easy to locate things in our home when you are looking for them. Unless of course my husband or kids have used them. No, but seriously, I have a place for everything and try to put it back there when I'm done or when I'm picking up the house. However, when it comes time to pack I realize just how scattered and unorganized everything is. I pack up a box in one room thinking that all the items related to that box are in it and I proceed to tape it up and declare it ready to go. Then when I get to the next room I find something that should have been in that box. So frustrating and no matter how hard I try I am still finding odds and ends laying around that should have gone in one box or another. I guess I should just start a box that says "odds & ends" and I will know that it has a mixture of items from throughout the house. I also try to clean things out as I pack. I mean there is no point in hauling stuff that we don't need 700 hundred miles, right? But my husbands packing philosophy? Just start chucking everything into boxes, any box, with no rhyme or reason. After all it's all going to the same place, right? Guess that gives you an idea of who does the unpacking! LOL!

Just Thursday...

Outside my window…It is beautiful outside. Nice day to be at the beach.

I am thinking…about all the families who are suffering as a result of the tornadoes and storms that have passed through the country recently.

From my kitchen…There hasn't been much activity in my kitchen lately because I had a wisdom tooth cut out on Monday and haven't felt much like cooking.

Around my house…there are a lot of boxes. The packing has begun. I hate packing, hence the procrastination that has been going on! Ha!

I am thankful for…my health and so many other things

Tomorrow I am…spending the day with my husband!

I am wearing… Jeans, a blouse, & sandals. I love sandals!

This Weekend I…need to do more packing and cleaning.

I am reading…nothing at the moment.

I am creating…nothing at the moment unless you count trash - lol. I seem to be producing a lot of that lately as I purge the things that are not needed around our house.

I am praying …for the Hargrove family as they say goodbye to a sister, daughter, & mother. A woman much too young taken by cancer.

Wee Bit Wednesday April 27th

I found this through a blog that I follow and it looks like fun so I am jumping on the bandwagon.

{one} have you ever been stuck in an elevator?
No - thank goodness! I would FREAK out.

{two} have you ever ridden on an elephant?
No way!

{three} have you ever met a well known celebrity?
Nope.

{four} do you have any food allergies?
Not that I know of

{five} do you know how to sew?
Yes, but I have not exercised this skill in some time so it is probably pretty rusty.

{six} did you get an allowance when you were young?
No, but my mom pretty much bought me whatever I wanted or needed. My husband will tell you that I was a little, ok, a LOT spoiled.

{seven} how often do you fill up your gas tank?
Usually every couple of weeks, but with the price of gas now I hate doing it even more than I used to.

{eight} have you ever been stung by a jelly fish?
No

{nine} have you ever been robbed?
Yes, I have had a bicycle stolen and money stolen while at a friends house. It's not a good feeling!

{ten} what is the worst haircut you’ve ever had?
Oh wow! That's a hard one! I'm sure I've had several styles that weren't the best choice. But I always look at it as it's just hair and will grow back if I don't like it. It's hard to know if something will look good on you until you actually try it.

Great Insight

I am a pastor's wife (I think I've mentioned that before) and I ran across this blog entry through a forum for pastor's wives that I am a part of. It has great insight into some of the things a pastor's wife (& a pastor) go through at times. I am VERY blessed to be able to say that my church does NOT treat us like this AT ALL. We have been so blessed by our current church family. As a matter of fact I consider them family.

At any rate I thought I would share this here in case there is anyone who might benefit by reading it. If you are a church member you can be a tremendous support to your pastor & pastor's wife by treating them like they are part of your family. I pray that this article may enable you to have insight into what it is like to be in ministry and that it would enable you to take steps to be a blessing to the leaders that God has called to care for you. Ask God what needs your pastor and his family may have that you could help to meet.
