15 Mile Yard Sale

Every year on the first Saturday in November a local city hold a 15 mile stretch of yard sales.  I've wanted to go every year since we found out about it, but our schedule has never allowed it - until today!  This morning we got up early and hit the trail.  We got some great finds.  Had been needing to replace our VCR (ours broke a little while back and most of my workout videos are on VHS not to mention our home videos) and we found DVD/VCR combo for an awesome price.  I was also able to find 3 dresses, 2 skirts & jackets, a sweater, a duffle bag for my son's karate gear, a George Foreman grill, and my husband and son found a few other small things as well. 

Spent the afternoon cleaning up around the house and now I'm about to cook dinner and the rest of the evening I will spend relaxing and resting.  It's been a good week.  I'm looking forward to worship with my church family tomorrow.

Blogging?

You know, I have been pondering this blogging thing.  I found myself at the beginning of the year wanting to revive my blog.  But as I got ready to write I wondered what was the purpose or point of writing about the everyday mundane happenings in my life?  I wondered, who will really want to read this nonsense.  Today as I was taking time to visit all my "friends" blogs to check in on them and see what is happening in their lives I found that many of them have stopped updating their blogs.  That's when I realized why is good to write about our everyday (sometimes boring lives).   I realize that sometimes life gets busy (for me too!) and we can't make blogging a priority (& sometimes it is only for a season).  But when someone stops writing I miss them!  Maybe that's silly, but it's really how I feel.   So, perhaps if I do write about my boring, mundane, mostly the same day to day life, no one will read it.  But, perhaps, someone might. 

New Year's Resolution

After having two of our friends pass away recently (both at a young age) I have been trying to focus on just living life and making the most out of all God has blessed me with.  So that is my New Year's Resolution ~ to attempt to live life to it's fullest.

I can't believe it's a new year!  Seems like last year just started.  2008 was roller coaster ride.  It was very eventful and very blessed.  I have so many things to be thankful for.  It's a good time to look at my life and see all that God has blessed me with.  It's also a good time to look forward to the new year and the person I want to be at the end of 2009.  I am really looking forward to this year and all that God has in store for us.
