Christmas Traditions?

What's your favorite Christmas Tradition(s)?

I have many traditions that center around Christmas that I love.  I'll just share one for now.  I've always loved watching the Christmas specials on TV.  You know the ones...Frosy, Rudolph, etc.  When my kids were little I bought VHS copies of my favorites.  Every year we make cookies and watch those specials together while eating our warm cookies and drinking a glass of milk.  Now that they are getting older they aren't really into as much.  *Sigh!*  I guess that's what happens when they start to grow up.

I'd love to hear about your family traditions!

Putting up the trees, as a family, we put up three trees, we usually turn the tv onto a Christmas music channel or put a cd in the dvd player and put them all up, and get all the nativities out...a good time!

Isn't it so sad when the kids think they are too grown up for stuff or just aren't interested. I guess I make mine mad because I insist on keeping traditions. I get lots of eye rolls and "Oh Mom!" but oh well. HaHa!

I had plans of posting my favorite Christmas traditions this evening so stop by if you've got the time.

I always enjoy reading your blog!

Every Christmas Eve my kids open two gifts. They each get a new pair of pajamas(alterior motive: they will look decent for pictures on both Christmas Eve and Christmas morning pictures). They put those p.j.'s on before opening their second gift, which is always an ornament that represents their year. Since my kids don't read your blog (to my knowledge, anyway) I can tell you that my teenage son Aaron is getting an ornament that says "Tis the Season" with a hunting hat and ducks, because he shot his first ducks on a duck hunting trip to North Dakota with his dad this year, and my daughter is getting an ornament of a speed boat because we bought a boat this year and she learned to water ski.
Christmas morning, the kids wake up (much too early) and they open gifts. Then, it's off on a 6 hour ride to Grandma's for another two Christmases at relatives' houses. The merriness continues!
